Restoration and Irrigation Project Update
The Winnetka Golf Club restoration and irrigation project on the 18-hole golf course began September 4, 2007. The renovation included a new triple row irrigation system, a new pump house, eight new tee complexes and a total of 18 new (or renovated) bunkers.
The work is complete! Staff foresees opening the course the final weekend in March with the 3rd and 17th tee boxes playing as temporary until sometime in May. These two tee boxes were seeded and should be ready for play a little later than the tee boxes that were sodded.
The Winnetka Golf Club thanks you for your support and patience during this project. Golfers can be assured of an enhanced golf experience.
Four Teeing Options
To accommodate all levels of play the WGC will add an additional set of tees on the 18-hole course with recommended handicaps for each tee.
- Black Tees – (0–10 handicap men)
- Blue Tees – (11-20 handicap men)
- White Tees – (21-30 handicap men or 0-15 handicap women)
- Red Tees – (30 + handicap men, juniors, and women handicap 16+)
These tees are recommendations only. Players are free to choose their tee box. Player Assistants or Starters may make a suggestion to help the player get the most enjoyment out of their round.
Course Rating
The 18-hole course will be re-rated to correspond with the changes made to the course during renovation.
In March of 2008 the CDGA will come out and re-rate the course. Staff will have the new ratings available as soon as possible after the rating is complete.
New Scorecards
New 18-Hole scorecards are now available.
Course Pictures
Pictures of the course and renovation changes are available on line, but we would rather you come out and experience the renovated course in person!
